Privacy Policy

Last updated: 17 May 2026 · Fact Check (factcheck.cash)

This Privacy Policy describes how Fact Check (the "Service") handles information when you use the Fact Check application on Even Realities G2 smart glasses, the subscribe page at factcheck.cash, and related backend services (collectively, the "Service").

1. Who we are

Fact Check is operated by an independent developer based in Quebec, Canada. Contact: [email protected].

2. Information we collect

Audio

When you tap the glasses to fact-check, the app sends a buffer of up to the last 30 seconds of microphone audio to our backend, which forwards it to Google's Gemini 2.5 API for analysis. We do not store the audio. It is held in memory only for the duration of a single fact-check request (typically a few seconds) and then discarded. We do not transcribe it for our own records.

Identity

We identify your installation by your Even Realities account ID, provided to us by the Even Hub SDK. This identifier is the same account ID Even Realities uses internally for your account. If your Even Realities account ID is unavailable (e.g., when running in a developer simulator), we generate a random UUID and store it locally on your device only.

Usage metering

We record one row per (identifier, UTC day) showing how many fact-checks you've performed that day, so we can enforce the free-tier daily limit. We do not store the audio, the transcript, the verdict, or anything else about the content of your fact-checks.

Subscription

If you subscribe to Fact Check Pro, we store your identifier alongside a Stripe customer ID and subscription ID, so we know your subscription is active. We do not store your name, email, postal address, payment card, or any other payment information — all payment data is handled by Stripe (see Section 4).

Network metadata

Our backend logs the client IP address, a truncated identifier prefix (first 8 characters), request size, and processing time for each request. These logs are used for rate limiting, abuse detection, and debugging. They are retained for up to 30 days and then deleted.

3. How we use information

4. Third-party services

The Service relies on these providers. By using Fact Check you also agree to their privacy practices:

5. Data retention

6. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g., GDPR in the EEA/UK, CCPA in California, Quebec's Law 25), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to object to or restrict its processing. To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.

To delete your account and all associated data, email us with your Even Realities account ID. We will revoke any active subscription, delete your usage rows and premium flag, and instruct Stripe to delete your customer record.

7. Security

All connections to our backend use HTTPS. Payment data is processed entirely by Stripe over PCI-DSS compliant infrastructure. Database access uses scoped credentials with the principle of least privilege.

8. Children

The Service is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have, email [email protected].

9. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy. Material changes will be announced via the app and in the listing on the Even Hub store. The "Last updated" date above always reflects the current version.

10. Contact

Questions or requests: [email protected].
